Hey Oostburg, We will be putting up a big mess of basketball pix, audio and video from a few years ago. We kinda used you guys to sharpen our multimedia skills and we thank you for being good about it. We would’ve liked to document your latest title run, yet the WIAA has ruined high school sports coverage and we don’t want to get sued. Much of my work was produced during tournament time and is potentially illegal.
Quite frankly, the WIAA doesn’t even want your local paper to cover your sports anymore, it’s kind of sad. I spent most of my life working for the media with an emphasis in covering high School sports. I have photographed thousands of high school sporting events and watch sadly as a bunch of third rate hacks are provided exclusive coverage. According to the WIAA it is ok to cover the regular seasons, yet somehow the playoffs are not public any more. The WIAA is currently suing Gannett over this matter and I expect things to change.
